From ‘Vegas’ to V8s: capping off a big year

After a huge year marked by massive changes in the insolvency sector, Jirsch Sutherland’s team members have taken time out to catch up with clients in more relaxed, social settings.

“It’s been great to be able to take the time to thank clients and business partners for their support throughout the year. At all levels, building lasting relationships is crucial and when the business matters are out of the way we enjoy having some down time to have some laughs and reflect on the year that’s been and the year that lies ahead,” says Managing partner Sule Arnautovic.

There’s been plenty of action and lots of laughs. Here are just a couple of the more recent events:

Jirsch Sutherland takes ‘pole position’ in Newcastle

Around 100 guests were at the front of the field when they converged on Jirsch Sutherland’s Newcastle office to watch the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship – the Coates Hire Newcastle 500 – at the end of November.

The office had a fantastic trackside view of the Supercars racing on Watt Street, and guests were able to compete in their own event with the addition of two racing car simulators in the office for the day. The racing was fierce, and the winner of the inaugural JS Lap Time Champion was Michael McGrath of Mullane & Lindsey, whose name is the first on the Trophy. He proudly stood on the ‘podium’ where he received his magnum of Moet.

Vegas Nights in downtown Sydney

The Marquee Nightclub at Sydney’s Star Casino was transformed into a 1920s style ‘speakeasy casino’ for Jirsch Sutherland’s end-of-year event. The 190 guests donned gangster hats (for the men) and Charleston headbands (for the women) and tried their luck at black jack, craps, money wheel and roulette. Congratulations to Ross Porfida from PPF Accounting Services who won the greatest number of chips!

The Darling Diamond Dolls, a Cabaret/Burlesque troupe, provided a spectacular show, with a highlight being the Charleston performed by Jirsch Sutherland COO Gareth Gammon, and the very funny speech delivered by Managing Partner Sule Arnautovic. Not to mention the stunning Sydney skyline views from the very impressive bathroom!
