The firm was founded in 2015 by Ginette Muller who will join Jirsch Sutherland’s Brisbane office along with four of GM Advisory’s staff including Liquidator Marcus Watters, Aleks Stojic, Dani Gallego and Shannon Jericevich.

Ginette became a registered liquidator in 2002 and her background includes more than 20 years working in the accounting, finance, insolvency and turnaround services. Ginette and Marcus are already familiar with the Jirsch Sutherland team, having previously worked with Brisbane Partner Chris Baskerville.

 Safe harbour

Ginette’s background is a perfect fit with Jirsch Sutherland, especially her emerging specialist skills in the area of Safe Harbour.

“Safe Harbour is a game-changer for the insolvency sector as it gives directors breathing space to develop a better options plan for their business without the fear of breaching strict insolvent trading laws,” Ginette says. “Jirsch Sutherland’s expertise means that we should lead the field in this area –  especially as the industry moves to crack down on unscrupulous and unqualified pre-insolvency advisers.”

Jirsch Sutherland’s Managing Partner, Sule Arnautovic, says the acquisition is a great strategic move. “GM Advisory is an excellent fit for Jirsch Sutherland and the skills that Ginette and her team have will complement those of our Brisbane and overall national teams,” he says.

Ginette adds that she is very excited to be working with Jirsch Sutherland. “I really like that the organisation has a strong regional presence, which is important for the type of work I do and want to do more of.”
