Jirsch Sutherland appoints Henry McKenna as Partner

We are delighted to welcome a new partner to our firm, Henry McKenna.

Henry is a first-rate insolvency specialist with excellent skills and extensive experience across many industry sectors. His expertise, proven track record and philosophy make him a perfect fit for our culture and strategic direction.Henry

Henry has 17 years’ experience in formal insolvency appointments and informal advisory engagements with a focus on property, agribusiness, hospitality and retail.

What also makes Henry a great fit is his strong business relationships. His well-established contacts in Sydney and Brisbane and his focus on regional areas align with our firm’s commitment to work locally, but on a national scale.

Henry is looking forward to getting to work and says developing and maintaining relationships is “the most important aspect of what we do”.

“But this doesn’t just apply to client and referrer relationships,” he says. “What we do has an impact on all stakeholders, and regardless of the sector, my focus is on achieving the best outcome for them. I do this by adopting a commercial approach while considering the particular context of each matter.”

Henry was previously a director at Bentleys Corporate Recovery and prior to this held roles with KPMG and McGrathNicol.

He has worked on a large range of matters and says his career highlights include being appointed one of the voluntary administrators of the Keystone Hospitality Group, managing the deed administration of Australia’s largest cotton farm, Cubbie Station, and being part of the administration team of engineering contractor Henry Walker Eltin.

One of his more interesting cases involved the receivership of two cattle stations and a beef feedlot in Western and Central Queensland. This project was interesting because of the more unusual issues that needed to be dealt with including animal welfare, foreign employees on 457 visas, stolen machinery, a deceased director, mustering over 5,000 head of cattle and the sale of three separate businesses.

Henry brings different experience and perspectives to Jirsch Sutherland and we know he will further enhance our service offerings to clients.

We hope you join us in welcoming Henry to the firm and soon get to meet him.

Yours faithfully,
SULE ARNATUOVIC
